General Procedures and InformationFaxCentre 2121/2121L 11/06 6-19GP 4 Start-Up and Software ConfigurationA few seconds after switching on, as soon as the warm-up of the printer is finished, the date andthe time are displayed.Note: When the machine is switched on for the first time, the TEST IN PROGRESS message isdisplayed for several minutes.User ParametersRefer to the User Guide.Installing ParametersThe purpose of these parameters is to configure the machine to specific user requirements andto the telecommunication standards of the country where the machine is to be installed.At delivery, each machine is programmed with the factory test configurations. The installer canobtain a printed listing of these parameters (key sequence MENU 5, 4, OK).Note: It is advisable to keep a paper copy of the list of these parameters at delivery.Only service personnel are authorised to access the parameters.The machine is equipped with a set of logic blocks referred to as SOS (Soft Switches). Each blockconsists of 8 bits called bit 1 to 8. Each bit can take a value of either 0 or 1. On the display, a block(from bit 1 to bit 8) is read from right to left. When a configuration is first selected, the blinking cur-sor is always placed on bit 8 (the bit at the left).When the display shows the date and the time, you can access the softswitch settings by meansof the key sequence:The description of these parameters can be found below.
