Five buttonsgive one-touch access to the copy, scan, print,fax and system functions, with the currentlyselected button identified by an illuminatedbutton. Advanced options available on the leftside of the front panel include:• Color Mode — Selections include black-and-white, color and automatic• Document Type — Choose from photo,graphic, mixed, and text settings• Output Quality — Four image quality set-tings from photo mode to draft• 2-Sided — Settings include 2-1, 2-2, 1-2, 1-1for copying; 2-1 or 1-1 for scanning and faxing• Lighten/Darken — Seven options for lighten-ing or darkening a copy or fax job• Reduce/Enlarge — Multiple pre-set settingsfor reducing and enlarging copy size, withdetailed and automatic settingsThe availability of advanced options changesto match the currently selected function. Forexample, in Copy mode, each of the advancedoptions is available, as each is pertinent to copyjob programming. When Scan mode is selected,only Color Mode, Document Type and 2-Sidedare available, as the Output Quality, Lighten/Darken and Reduce/Enlarge options are irrel-evant to programming a scan job. The graphicdisplay interface is also context-specific, chang-ing to include options and settings that arerelevant to the selected function and makingadvanced and detailed settings easily availablewhen programming jobs.The right side of the front panel includes thededicated fax buttons, alphanumeric keypadand control buttons. The fax buttons provideeasy access to the speed dial, send list, delaysend and pause fax features. The alphanumerickeypad is for inputting fax numbers and copyquantities. The control buttons include the ClearAll button, the Stop button, and the ubiquitousgreen Start button.Bidirectional DriversThe Phaser 8560MFP print driver features aclear graphical user interface that provides aneasy, intuitive way to interact with the system.The print driver provides bidirectional infor-mation, indicating device status, job status,currently loaded paper sizes and types, andsupplies status – there is no need to consultseparate software in order to obtain thisinformation.The print driver user interface is designed togive quick and easy tab-based access to com-monly used and advanced features.
