Since the home position is already set andregistered before shipment, zeroing operation does not need to beperformed at the normal operation. However, zeroing operation needs tobe performed to restore the home position since the home position datadisappear when you perform the following operations, or the followingsoccur.• Replacement of Motors• Replacement of Encoders• Backup Battery Exhaustion in the ManipulatorNOTEThe home position data is stored by the backup battery. Ifthe battery is exhausted, the home position data disappearagain when turning OFF the DX100 power even when thezeroing operation is performed.Be sure to replace the battery periodically. For the batteryreplacement, refer to “Maintenance and Inspection” of“MOTOMAN-MH50 INSTRUCTIONS”.NOTE The home positioning cannot be performed accurately bythe zeroing operation if changing the combination of themanipulator and the DX100.14 of 51
