1YX SERIESYX10SP10-Inch Active SubwooferIntroductionThe Yorkville Sound YX10SP offers one of the best values for a 10-inch active subwoofer. Createdas an easy-to-setup addition to any P.A., the YX10SP will extend the bass of a typical sound systemwith the least amount of complication.ConfigurationThe YX10SP can be used in several different configurations. The basic system setup is a singleYX10SP used with a pair of full-range loudspeakers, typically Yorkville Sound YX15Ps. MultipleYX10SPs can be used along with multiple full-range enclosures if more bass is required. The YX10SPaccepts both mono and stereo sources. The stereo signals will be properly combined into mono.Multiple YX10SPs can be daisy chained through the Link jacks while full-range loudspeakers canbe properly fed a filtered signal from the High Pass Output jacks.1. YX10SP Level ControlThe YX10SP Level control sets the amount of bass added to the sound system by the YX10SP. Thisadjusts for the relative sensitivity of the companion full-range speakers and the desired systemfrequency response. This control should be set by listening while operating at a medium level (i.e.before the onset of limiting) and then not changed. It is not possible to set this control properly athigh levels since the limiter will be determining the output level.A setting of 0 dB on the YX10SP Level control is the correct starting point when setting upa sound system. From there, adjustments can be made for the best sound. The 0 dB markrefers to the setting that will give full power when the line input is used and the input signalis at a level of +4 dBV.2. Input JacksUse the input jacks to feed the YX10SP with a mono or stereo from your source. It is preferredthat your source go directly to the YX10SP and then be looped up to your full-rangeloudspeakers through the High Pass Output jacks.For mono signals, the Left/Mono jack can use a cable with a ¼-inch or XLR connector.
