FT-250R O PERATING M ANUAL26MANUAL DTMF T ONE G ENERATIONYou can generate DTMF tones during transmission manually.c Press the PTT switch to begin transmission.d While transmitting, press the desired numbers on the keypad.e When you have sent all the digits desired, release the PTT key.DTMF AUTODIALERNine DTMF Autodial memories are provided, allowing you to store telephone numbersfor autopatch use. You can also store short autopatch access code streams so as to avoidhaving to send them manually.Here is the DTMF Autodial storage procedure:c Press the [F/L] key, then press the [0(SET)] key to enter the Set mode.d Rotate the DIAL to select Menu Item #28 (“DTMFDTMFDTMFDTMFDTMF”).e Press the [F/L] key to enable adjustment of this Menu item.f Rotate the DIAL to select the DTMF Memory register (“d1d1d1d1d1” through “d9d9d9d9d9”) into whichyou wish to store this DTMF string.g Press the [F/L] key, then press the [F/L] key again to begin DTMF Memory entry intothe selected register.h Rotate the DIAL to select the first digit of the desired label. When you have made yourselection, press the [V(MHz)] key momentarily to move to the next digit.i Repeat the previous step to program the remaining, numbers of the desired number. Atotal of 16 digits may be used in the creation of a label.j Press the PTT switch to save the setting. To store other numbers, repeat this process,using a different DTMF memory register.To send the telephone number:c Press [F/L], then the [9(DTMF)] key to activate the DTMF Autodialer function. The“DTMF” icon appears on the display.d Press the PTT switch to begin transmission.e Press the numerical key ([1] through [9]) corresponding to the DTMF memory stringyou wish to send. Once the string begins, you may release the PTT key, as the trans-mitter will be held “on the air” until the DTMF string is completed.DTMF Operation
