20 EnThis section explains playback of commercially availableBD Video and DVD Video discs (like movies), CDs, andrecorded DVD-RW/R discs.■ Loading a Disc1 Press p to turn on the power.2 Press OPEN/CLOSE or to open the disc tray.3 Load a disc on the disc tray.– Insert the disc with the label face up.– In case of disc recorded on both sides, face down theside to play back.4 Press OPEN/CLOSE or to close the disc tray.Notes– Playback may begin automatically, depending on thedisc.– Playback begins from the first title.– The menu may be displayed first, depending on thedisc. Perform playback operation by following thedirections on the screen.– The disc load time may vary depending on the disc.■ Basic playback operation*1 The search speed will change each time you press the button.*2 The Player resumes playback from the point that where the Playerwas previously stopped. To playback from the beginning, pressand then .Notes– This player supports DVD upscaling during DVDplayback.– Some of the newly released BD video discs cannotbe played back unless you update this Playersoftware to the latest version.
