Disengage the projections from both endsof the fuel tank, slightly expanding bothends of the fuel tank cover.c. Slide the right side of the fuel tank coverslightly forward to disengage projections“a” from the fuel tank cover bracket. Disconnect:• Fuel hose (fuel tank side)• Fuel sender coupler• Fuel pump coupler• Fuel tank drain hose• Fuel tank breather hoseWARNINGEWA39P1702Cover fuel hose connection with a clothwhen disconnecting them. Residual pres-sure in the fuel lines could cause fuel tospurt out when removing the hose.ECA14B1003Be sure to disconnect the fuel hose byhand. Do not forcefully disconnect the hosewith tools.TIP• To remove the fuel hose from the fuel pump,press the two buttons “1” on the sides of theconnector, and then remove the hose.• Before removing the hose, place a few ragsin the area under where it will be removed.• It is prohibited to wear the cotton work glovesor equivalent coverings.4. Remove:• Fuel tankTIPDo not set the fuel tank down so that the instal-lation surface of the fuel pump is directly underthe tank.
