PRECAUTIONSThis model is designed to be used as an effect speak-er system.Read these precautions carefully before using your speak-ers.● Any time you note distortion, reduce the volume controlon your amplifier to a lower setting. Never allow youramplifier to be driven into “clipping”. Otherwise thespeakers may be damaged.● When using an amplifier with a rated output power high-er than the nominal input power of the speakers, careshould be taken never to exceed the speakers’ maximuminput.● Do not attempt to clean the speakers with chemical sol-vents as this might damage the finish. To clean, wipewith a dry, soft cloth.● To prevent the enclosure from warping or discoloring, donot place the speakers where they will be exposed todirect sunlight or excessive humidity.● Do not place the speakers where they are liable to beknocked over or struck by falling objects. Stable place-ment will also ensure better sound performance.● Placing the speakers on the same shelf or rack as theturntable can result in feedback.● As these speakers contain strong magnets, avoid plac-ing watches, magnetic tapes, etc. near them. Also, plac-ing the speakers near a TV set may impair picture color.If this happens, move the TV set away from the speak-ers.● Secure placement or installation is the owner’sresponsibility.YAMAHA shall not be liable for any accident causedby improper placement or installation of the speak-ers.n Mounting the speakers on a wallThe speakers can be mounted on a wall by using theholes provided on the speakers’ back panels.Make sure that the screws are caught by a narrow part ofthe holes securely.Put the screws into a wall according to the figure shownbelow.Fasten screws into a firm wall or wall support as shown inthe figure below, and hang the holes on the protrudingscrews.WARNING● Each speaker weights 2.2 kg (4 lbs. 13 oz.). Do notmount them on thin plywood or soft wall surface materi-al, as the screws may come out of the flimsy surface,causing the speakers to fall down and be damaged, orresult in personal injury.● Do not fasten the speakers to wall with nails, adhesives,or other unsound hardware.
