Use only a soft,clean cloth or sponge withmild detergent and water toclean plastic.8 Do not use any harsh chemicalproducts on plastic parts. Besure to avoid using cloths orsponges which have been incontact with strong or abra-sive cleaning products, solventor thinner, fuel (gasoline), rustremovers or inhibitors, brakefluid, antifreeze or electrolyte.EC000111cCExcessive hose pressure maycause water seepage and deterio-ration of wheel bearings, frontfork, brakes, transmission sealsand electrical parts.Many expensive repair bills haveresulted from improper high pres-sure detergent applications suchas those available in coin-operatedcar washers.4. After riding on salted roads,wash the motorcycle with coldwater immediately. Do not usewarm water as it increases thechemical reaction of the salt.5. Once the majority of the dirthas been hosed off, wash allsurfaces with warm water andmild, detergent-type soap. Anold toothbrush or bottle brushis handy for hard-to-get-atplaces.1. Before cleaning the motorcy-cle:a. Block off the end of theexhaust pipe to prevent waterentry; a plastic bag and strongrubber band may be used.b. Make sure the spark plug andall filler caps are properlyinstalled.2. If the engine case is excessive-ly greasy, apply degreaserwith a paint brush.
