Pull the clutch lever to disengagethe clutch.2. Shift the transmission into firstgear. The neutral indicator lightshould go out.3. Open the throttle gradually, andat the same time, release theclutch lever slowly.4. At the recommended shift pointsshown in the table on page 5-4,close the throttle, and at thesame time, quickly pull the clutchlever in.5. Shift the transmission into sec-ond gear. (Make sure not to shiftthe transmission into the neutralposition.)6. Open the throttle part way andgradually release the clutchlever.7. Follow the same procedure whenshifting to the next higher gear.NOTE:Always shift gears at the recommend-ed shift points.EAU00427To decelerate1.
