ENCOUNTERING OBSTACLES ON THETRAILIf you cannot go around an obstacle such as afallen tree trunk or a ditch, stop the vehiclewhere it is safe to do so. Set the parking brakeand get out to inspect the area thoroughly.Look from both your approach side and theexit side. If you believe you can continue safe-ly, decide the path that will allow you to getover the obstacle at as close to a right angleas possible to minimize vehicle tipping. Goonly fast enough to maintain your momentumbut still give yourself plenty of time to react tochanges in conditions. If there is any questionabout your ability to maneuver safely over theobstacle, you should turn around, if theground is flat and you have the room, or backup until you find a less difficult path.WARNINGPOTENTIAL HAZARDImproperly operating over obstaclesWHAT CAN HAPPENCould cause loss of control or a colli-sion.
