CONTROls23IMPORTANT INFORMATIONExperience indicates that alcohol blendedfuels (called gasohol, ethanol or methanol)can attract moisture which leads to separationand formation of acids during storage. Acidicgas can damage the fuel system of an enginewhile in storage. To avoid engine problems, the fuel system should be emptied beforestorage of 30 days or longer. Drain the gastank, start the engine and let it run until thefuel lines and carburetor are empty. Use freshfuel the next season. See Storage Instructionsfor additional information. Never use engineor carburetor cleaners in the fuel tank orpermanent damage may occur.RefuelingWARNING!Gasoline is highly flammable.Observe caution and fill the tankoutdoors (see the safety instruction).WARNING!The engine and the exhaust systembecome very hot during operation.Risk for burns if touched.Allow engine and exhaust system tocool at least two (2) minutes beforerefuelingWARNING!Fill to bottom of filler neck. Do notoverfill. Wipe off any spilled oilor fuel. Do not store, spill or usegasoline near an open flame.8066-028Right hand gasoline fuel tankIMPORTANT INFORMATIONIt is recommended that fuel be added to bothtanks on initial start up.Read the safety instructions before refueling. Thecombined capacity for the two tanks is 9½ gallons (36liters).Regularly check the gas cap gasket for damage andkeep the cap properly tightened. The engine will run on a minimum of 87-octaneunleaded gasoline (no oil mix). Environmentallyadapted alkylate gasoline can be used. See TechnicalData concerning ethanol fuel. Methanol fuel is notallowed. Do not use E85 alcohol based fuel. Damageto the engine and components may occur. When operating in temperatures below 32° F. (0° C.),use fresh, clean winter grade gasoline to help insuregood cold weather starting.
