User Guide for the SIP-T29G IP Phone176The SIP-T29G IP phone supports MWI when receiving a new voice message. If someoneleaves you a voice mail, you will receive a message waiting indicator. MWI will beindicated in three ways: a warning tone, an indicator message (including a voice mailicon) on the LCD screen, and the power indicator LED slow flashes red. This will becleared when you retrieve all voice mails or delete them.The MWI service is unsolicited for some servers, so the SIP-T29G IP phone only handlesthe MWI messages sent from the server. But for other servers, the MWI service issolicited, so the SIP-T29G IP phone must enable subscription for MWI.NoteThe MWI subscription parameters you need to know:Options DescriptionSubscribe for MWI Enable or disable a subscription for MWI service.MWI Subscription PeriodPeriod of MWI subscription. The IP phone sends arefresh SUBSCRIBE request before initial SUBSCRIBEexpiration.Subscribe MWI to VMEnable or disable a subscription to the voice mailnumber for MWI service.To use this feature, you should also configure thevoice mail number.NoteTo configure subscribe for MWI via web user interface:1. Click on Account->Advanced.2. Select the desired account from the pull-down list of Account.3. Select Enabled from the pull-down list of Subscribe for MWI.MWI service is not available on all servers. Contact your system administrator for moreinformation.The phone will send SUBSCRIBE messages for the MWI service to the account or thevoice number MWI service depending on the server.
