DO NOT replace per-manent type with disposable. The dimensional size ofthe replacement filter must be the same as thereplaced filter.MOTORSOutdoor fan motors are permanently lubricated andrequire no maintenance.Indoor Blower Motor and Drive - The indoor blowermotor features ball bearings that do not requireperiodic lubrication. Periodic lubrication of the motorand bearings can extend the life of components but isoptional. On an annual basis, check the motor for accumulationsof dust, etc. that may block the cooling slots in themotor shell. Check for loose, damaged or misaligneddrive components. Check that all mounting bolts aretight. Replace defective parts as required. If desired, every three years remove both pipe plugs ateach end shell and clean out any hardened grease orforeign matter. Replace one plug on each end with aclean grease fitting. Using a low pressure grease gun, pump grease (Chevron SRI-2 or equivalent) into thebearing cavity until new grease shows at the open port.Do not over lubricate. Run the motor for ten minutesuntil excess grease is purged from the cavity. Replacethe plugs.BLOWER SHAFT BEARINGBlower shaft bearings should be inspected on amonthly basis. At a minimum, the bearings should berelubricated every 6 months using a lithium-basedgrease (NLGI grade 2) recommended for ball bearingservice.OUTDOOR COILDirt should not be allowed to accumulate on the out-door coil surface or other parts in the air circuit. Clean-ing should be as often as necessary to keep coil clean.Use a brush, vacuum cleaner attachment, or other suit-able means. If water is used to clean coil, be sure elec-tric power to the unit is shut off prior to cleaning.NOTE: Exercise care when cleaning the coil so thatthe coil fins are not damaged.TABLE 21: HEAT DELAYHeatFan OnDelayHeatFan OffDelayRedLED 8RedLED 4RedLED 2RedLED 160 180 On On On On60 90 On On On Off60 60 On On Off On60 30 On On Off Off45 180 On Off On On45 90 On Off On Off45 60 On Off Off On45 30 On Off Off Off30 180 Off On On On30 90 Off On On Off30 60 Off On Off On30 30 Off On Off Off0 60 Off Off On On0 30 Off Off On Off0 10 Off Off Off OnNon-std Non-std Off Off Off OffPrior to any of the following maintenance pro-cedures, shut off all electric power to the unit toprevent personal injury.Damage can occur if the bearings are overlu-bricated.
