Theinstaller must assure that these instructions are made availableto the consumer. The installer must instruct the consumer toretain the instructions for future reference.• Refer to the unit rating plate for the approved type of gasfor this product.• Install this unit only in a location and position as specifiedon Page 9 of these instructions.• Never test for gas leaks with an open flame. Usecommercially available soap solution made specifically forthe detection of leaks when you check all connections.See Pages 5, 37, 37 and 67 of these instructions.• Always install the furnace to operate within the furnace'sintended temperature-rise range with the duct system andwithin the allowable external static pressure range. Thisinformation is specified on the unit name/rating plate andspecified on Page 68 of these instructions.• This equipment is not to be used for the temporaryheating of buildings or structures under construction.It is permitted to use the unit for heating and cooling of buildingsor structures under construction where the application and usemust comply with all manufacturer's installation instructionsincluding the following:• Proper installation of vent outlet air and combustion airintake hoods.• The unit must be operated under thermostatic control.• Return and supply air ducts must be sealed to the unit.• Air filters in place;• The unit furnace input rate and temperature rise must beset according to the rating plate marking.• The return air temperature must be maintained between55ºF (13ºC) and 80ºF (27ºC).• When the construction phase is completed and beforeformal start up and commissioning, the unit, duct workand components must be thoroughly cleaned andinspected. This is to ensure that the operation of the unitduring construction did not contaminate the unit.Note: If the unit is used during the construction phase, thestandard limited warranty provisions go into effect whenthe unit is placed into operation.Preceding installation1. Remove the two screws that hold the brackets in the front,rear, and compressor side fork-lift slots. See Figure 1tFigure 1: Unit shipping bracket2. Turn each bracket toward the ground. The protectiveplywood covering drops to the ground.3. Remove the toolless doorknobs and instruction packet, seeFigure 3.Figure 2: Barometric relief hood - shipping locationFIRE OR EXPLOSION HAZARDFailure to follow the safety warning exactly could resultin serious injury, death, or property damage.Never test for gas leaks with an open flame.
