Setting CO2 and Respiration Rate Alarms9650-0803-01 Rev. B Propaq M Operator’s Guide 10-9Setting Upper and Lower EtCO 2 LimitsInitially, the EtCO2 Alarm menu specifies that the EtCO2 alarms are enabled (ON) or disabled(OFF), and displays the default Upper and Lower EtCO2 Limits. The upper and lower limits canbe ON or OFF (default is OFF). The following table lists the default EtCO2 limits for adult, pediatric, and neonate patients, and gives the range in which you can set these limits:Caution In high-altitude environments, EtCO2 values may be lower than values observed at sea level, asdescribed by Dalton’s law of partial pressures. When using the Propaq M unit in high-altitudeenvironments, it is advisable to adjust EtCO2 alarm settings accordingly.Setting Upper FiCO 2 LimitsInitially, the FiCO2 Alarm menu specifies that the FiCO2 alarms are enabled (ON) or disabled(OFF), and displays the default upper limit. The upper limit can be ON or OFF (default is OFF).The following table lists the default FiCO2 upper limits for adult, pediatric, and neonatepatients, and gives the range in which you can set these limits:Patient Type EtCO2 Limit Default EtCO 2 Limit RangeAdult Lower: 8 mmHgUpper: 60 mmHgLower: 0-145 mmHgUpper: 5-150 mmHgPediatric Lower: 8 mmHgUpper: 60 mmHgLower: 0-145 mmHgUpper: 5-150 mmHgNeonate Lower: 8 mmHgUpper: 60 mmHgLower: 0-145 mmHgUpper: 5-150 mmHgPatient Type Upper FiCO2 LimitDefaultUpper FiCO2 LimitRangeAdult 8 mmHg 2-98 mmHgPediatric 8 mmHg 2-98 mmHgNeonate 8 mmHg 2-98 mmHg
