Environment ProtectionThis appliance does not contain gasses which coulddamage the ozone layer, in either its refrigerant cir-cuit or insulation materials. The appliance shall not bediscarded together with the urban refuse and rubbish. Theinsulation foam contains flammable gases: the applianceshall be disposed according to the applicable regulationsto obtain from your local authorities. Avoid damaging thecooling unit, especially at the rear near the heat exchang-er. The materials used on this appliance marked by thesymbol are recyclable.Switching onInsert the plug into the wall socket.Turn the Temperature regulator clockwise to a mediumsetting.Switching offTo turn off the appliance, turn the Temperature regulatorto the "O" position.Temperature regulationThe temperature is automatically regulated.To operate the appliance, proceed as follows:• turn the Temperature regulator toward lower settings toobtain the minimum coldness.• turn the Temperature regulator toward higher settingsto obtain the maximum coldness.A medium setting is generally the most suitable.However, the exact setting should be chosen keeping inmind that the temperature inside the appliance dependson:• room temperature• how often the door is opened• the quantity of food stored• the location of the appliance.Important! If the ambient temperature is high or theappliance is fully loaded, and the appliance is set to thelowest temperatures, it may run continuously causingfrost to form on the rear wall. In this case the dial must beset to a higher temperature to allow automatic defrostingand therefore reduced energy consumption.First useCleaning the interiorBefore using the appliance for the first time, wash the inte-rior and all internal accessories with lukewarm water andsome neutral soap so as to remove the typical smell of abrand-new product, then dry thoroughly.Important! Do not use detergents or abrasive powders, asthese will damage the finish.Daily useFreezing fresh foodThe freezer compartment is suitable for freezing fresh foodand storing frozen and deep-frozen food for a long time.To freeze fresh foods it is not necessary to change the me-dium setting.However, for a faster freezing operation, turn the tempera-ture regulator toward higher settings to obtain the maxi-mum coldness.Important! In this condition, the refrigerator compartmenttemperature might drop below 0°C. If this occurs reset thetemperature regulator to a warmer setting.Place the fresh food to be frozen on the bottom compart-ment.Storage of frozen foodWhen first starting-up or after a period out of use, beforeputting the products in the compartment let the appliancerun at least 2 hours on the higher settings.If large quantities of food are to be stored, remove alldrawers and baskets from appliance and place food oncooling shelves to obtain the best performance.Warning!
