21Before cleaning always allow the coolingfan to cool the oven down before switchingoff at the electricity supply.The oven should be kept clean at all times.A build-up of fats or other foodstuffs couldresult in a fire, especially in the grill pan.Cleaning materialsBefore using any cleaning materials on your oven,check that they are suitable and that their use isrecommended by the manufacturer.Cleaners that contain bleach should NOT be used asthey may dull the surface finishes. Harsh abrasivesshould also be avoided.External cleaningRegularly wipe over the control panel, oven door anddoor seal using a soft cloth well wrung out in warmwater to which a little washing up liquid has beenadded.To prevent damaging or weakening thedoor glass panels avoid the use of thefollowing:• Household detergent and bleaches• Impregnated pads unsuitable for non-stick saucepans• Brillo/Ajax pads or steel wool pads• Chemical oven pads or aerosols• Rust removers• Bath/Sink stain removersClean the outer and inner door glass using warmsoapy water. Should the inner door glass becomeheavily soiled it is recommended that a cleaningproduct such as Vitroclean is used.DO NOT clean the oven door while theglass panels are warm. If this precaution isnot observed the glass panel may shatter.If the door glass panel becomes chipped orhas deep scratches, the glass will beweakened and must be replaced to preventthe possibility of the panel shattering.Contact your local Service Centre who willbe pleased to advise further.Cleaning the Oven
