14FO 0287Oven CavityThe enamelled oven cavity is best cleaned whilst theoven is still warm.Wipe the oven over with a soft cloth soaked in warmsoapy water after each use. From time to time it will benecessary to do a more thorough cleaning, using aproprietary oven cleaner.If the soilage has become set, after the oven has cooleddown, the following process will help to soften thesplatters to help make cleaning easier.1. Place the grill/ meat pan on the oven shelfpositioned in the lowest runner.2. Add a few drops of washing-up liquid to thepan and fill to about 12 mm. with boiling waterfrom the kettle.3. Close the oven door, turn the oven function knobon fan oven and set the thermostat knobon 50°C.4. After 15 minutes, turn off the thermostat andallow the fan oven to continue without heat fora further 5 minutes, when the temperature ofthe water will have cooled down.5. Carefully remove the pan of water from the ovenand use normal oven cleaners to clean awaysoil residues.6. Leave a little of the soapy water to soak intoany burned on spillage on the floor of the ovenfor a longer time if necessary.Oven ShelvesTo clean the oven shelves, soak in warm soapy waterand remove stubborn marks with a well wetted soapimpregnated pad. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.Cleaning the OvenBefore cleaning always allow the cooling fan tocool the oven down before switching off at theelectricity supply.The oven should be kept clean at all times. Abuild-up of fats or other foodstuffs could result ina fire, especially in the grill pan.Cleaning materialsBefore using any cleaning materials on your oven,check that they are suitable and that their use isrecommended by the manufacturer.Cleaners that contain bleach should NOT be used asthey may dull the surface finishes. Harsh abrasivesshould also be avoided.External cleaningRegularly wipe over the control panel, oven door anddoor seal using a soft cloth well wrung out in warmwater to which a little washing up liquid has been added.To prevent damaging or weakening the doorglass panels avoid the use of the following:• Household detergent and bleaches• Impregnated pads unsuitable for non-stick saucepans• Brillo/Ajax pads or steel wool pads• Chemical oven pads or aerosols• Rust removers• Bath/Sink stain removersClean the outer and inner door glass using warm soapywater. Should the inner door glass become heavilysoiled it is recommended that a cleaning product suchas Hob Brite, or Bar Keepers Friend is used.DO NOT clean the oven door while the glasspanels are warm. If this precaution is notobserved the glass panel may shatter.If the door glass panel becomes chipped or hasdeep scratches, the glass will be weakened andmust be replaced to prevent the possibility ofthe panel shattering. Contact your local ServiceCentre who will be pleased to advise further.Replacing the Oven LightDisconnect the appliance from the electricitysupply.If the oven bulb needs replacing, it must comply withthe following specifications: electric power, 15W;electric rate, 230V (50 Hz); resistant to temperaturesof 300°C; connection type: E14. These bulbs areavailable from your local Service Force Centre.To replace the faulty bulb:1. Ensure the oven is disconnected from the electricalsupply.2. Turn the glass cover anticlockwise.3. Remove the faulty bulb and replace it with the newone.4. Refit the glass cover.5. Reconnect to the electrical supply.
