16When replacing hob burner parts1. Crown to body. (Do not try to force the crown on tothe body). Make sure that the hole in the crown isover the electrode. Check that the location pegs sitin the slots in the body. When the crown is in thisposition let it fall freely on to the body. Check thatthe crown can be moved slightly from side to side.2. Cap to crown. Place cap centrally on the top ofcrown (enamel side up). Move sideways and frontto back to check the cap is properly fitted.3. Check for ignition. If a burner will not light then youneed to check the crown and cap positions.Cleaning the grill/oven furniture• All removable parts, except the grill pan handle canbe washed in the dishwasher.• The grill pan, grill pan grid and oven shelves maybe cleaned using a soap impregnated steel woolpad. Soaking first in hot soapy water will makecleaning easier.Before cleaning always allow the appliance to cooldown.Cleaning materials• Before using any cleaning materials on yourappliance, check that they are suitable and thattheir use is recommended by the manufacturer.• Cleaners that contain bleach should not be used asthey may dull the surface finishes. Harsh abrasivesand scourers should also be avoided.Cleaning the outside of the appliance• Do not use abrasive cleaning materials e.g.abrasive cream cleaners, wire wool pads orscourers on painted or printed finishes as damagemay occur. Regularly wipe over the control panel,control knobs, handles, doors and appliance sidesusing a soft cloth and hot soapy water. To preventstreaking, finish with a soft cloth.• Stainless Steel cream cleaners are abrasive andshould be avoided as they may dull the surfacefinish. Any spillage on the stainless steel finishmust be wiped off immediately.Do not attempt to remove any of the control knobsfrom the appliance as this may cause damage and isa safety hazard.Cleaning the hob• Clean the hob using a mild abrasive.• Take care not to damage the spark electrodes. Ifthe spark electrodes are damaged the burners willnot light. You can remove the pan supports, burnercaps and burner crowns to clean them. Again takecare not to damage the spark electrodes.• Clean the burner crowns and pan supports bysoaking them in very hot soapy water.• Aluminium based saucepans can leave shiny metalmarks on the pan supports. You can remove anystubborn stains by scouring with a soapimpregnated steel wool pad. If you look after theburner crowns and pan supports in this way theywill stay reasonably clean. However the surface willdull with time. After cleaning the appliance parts,dry them thoroughly before you put them back.Care and cleaning! WARNING!!
