Freezing calendarThe symbols on the drawers show different types offrozen goods.The numbers indicate storage times in months for theappropriate types of frozen goods. Whether theupper or lower value of the indicated storage time isvalid depends on the quality of the foods and pre-treating before freezing.ThawingFrozen food, prior to being used, can be thawed inthe fridge or at room temperature depending on thetime available. Small food items may even be cookedfrom frozen; in this case cooking will take longer.Any frozen food which is allowed to thaw accidentallyshould either be eaten as soon as possible or thrownaway. Alternatively, if the food is uncooked and hasnot been completely defrosted it can be cooked andthen refrozen.Defrosted cooked food must never be refrozen.Making ice cubesThe appliance is provided with a plastic ice cube tray.Fill the tray 3/4 full to allow the ice to expand andplace it in the freezer. To turn out the ice cubes sim-ply give the tray a slight twist to release the cubes.Never tray to free an ice tray that is frozen to thefreezer using a sharp or pointed object.Automatic defrostYour appliance has been designed to be frost free.This means there is no need to manually defrost yourappliance as this will be carried out automatically.Once the food is completely frozen (which could takeup to 24 hours) the fast freeze function can be endedmanually at any time by depressing the button Ãagain for more than one second.The yellow light goes out. If the fast freeze function isnot ended manually, the appliance electronics switchoff the fast freeze function after 48 hours. The yellowlight  goes out.Distribute the frozen food packages in the other com-partments, so that the bottom drawer can be used fora further freezing operation.Only freeze top quality, fresh and thoroughly cleanedfoodstuffs.During the freezing process, ensure that the freezerdoor remains closed.Because freezing is faster with frost free technology,once food is defrosted, it retains all of its original tex-ture, vitamins and taste.Frozen food storageWhen you first start the freezer or if the freezer hasbeen out of use for some time, we advise you to runyour appliance for at least two hours in the «fastfreeze» mode before storing frozen food.To obtain the best performance from this appliance,we suggest that all of the internal baskets are uti-lized.Moreover, we strongly recommend that you makesure that the commercially frozen foodstuffs wereadequately stored by the retailer and, furthermore, besure that these frozen foodstuffs are transferred fromthe foodstore to your freezer in the shortest possibletime (a temperature increase of the frozen food couldshorten its storage period).It is also advisable not to exceed the storage periodindicated by the producer of the food.To ensure the correct functioning of the appliance, nofoodstuffs should be stored directly against the fanblade.Finally, do not open the door frequently or leave itopen longer than is absolutely necessary.ImportantDo not put carbonated liquids, (fizzy drinksetc.), in the freezer.Ice lollies, if consumed immediately afterremoval from the freezer, can possibly result ina low temperature skin burn.Do not remove items from the freezer if yourhands are damp/wet, as this could cause skinabrasions or "frost/freezer burns".If there is a power failure during the storage offrozen food, do not open the door during thewhole time of the power failure. If the freezer isfully loaded, the frozen food will not be affected ifthe power cut is of short duration; otherwise, it isrecommended to consume the food within a veryshort time.In the event of a power failure the applianceautomatically starts again in fast freezemode. If the fast freeze function is notended manually, the appliance electronicsswitch off the fast freeze function after 5hours. The yellow light  goes out.6
