5OperationHob burnersTo light a burner:z turn the relevant control knob anticlockwise to themaximum position, then push it down to ignite theburner;z upon ignition, keep the knob pushed down about 5seconds. This will allow the "thermocouple" (Fig. 1,D) to be heated and the safety device to be switchedoff, otherwise the gas supply would be interrupted.z then, check the flame is regular and adjust it asrequired. If you cannot light the flame even after several attempts, check the "cap" and “crown” (Fig. 1, A-B) are in thecorrect position. To put the flame out, turn the knob to the symbol z.When switching on the mains, after installation ora power cut, it is quite normal for the sparkgenerator to be activated automatically. To ensure maximum burner efficiency, you should onlyuse pots and pans with a flat bottom fitting the size ofthe burner used (see table).Burner minimum maximumdiameter diameterUltra-rapid(triple-crown) 180 mm 260 mmLarge (rapid) 180 mm 260 mmMedium (semi-rapid) 120 mm 220 mmSmall (auxiliary) 80 mm 160 mm)))))If you use a saucepan which is smaller thanthe recommended size, the flame will spreadbeyond the bottom of the vessel, causing thehandle to overheat.Take care when frying food in hot oil or fat,as the overheated splashes could easily ignite. As soon as a liquid starts boiling, turn down theflame so that it will barely keep the liquidsimmering. If the control knobs become difficult to turn, pleasecontact your local Service Force Centre.Fig. 1A - Burner capB - Burner crownC - Ignition electrodeD - ThermocoupleABDCTriple-crown BurnerUsing the Wok StandA wok stand is provided to enable you to use a roundbottomed wok on the hob.
