7Control PanelSuitable kitchenware for induction cooking zonesPots and Pans• In principle all pots and pans with magnetic basesare suitable. These are steel, steel-enamel as wellas cast-iron pots and pans.• Stainless steel pots with metal mixture bases(sandwiches basis e.g. Tefal with aluminium /copper base) are only suitable for induction if themanufacturer expressly specifies this. In that casethey have a ferromagnetic percentage in thebase. If you want to use a pan with a non-stickcoating (for example with a Teflon coating) so asto cook without fats, do not select the boosterfunction "P" for this pan.• Pots and pans made of aluminium, copper, brass, stainless steel (unless specifically stated as beingsuitable for induction), glass, ceramics or porce-lain are not suitable for induction cooking fields. The cooking zone behaves as if it was operatedwithout pans and the symbol F is flashing in thedisplay.Look for the label: Suitable for induction!Lift up the pans if you want to move them so that thedrips do not leave any traces or even scratches.Suitability testIf you are not sure whether a pot / pan is suitable forcooking / frying on the induction cooking zone, youcan check it as follows:• Place a pot filled with a little water (3-5 mm fillingheight) on the cooking zone.Switch the cooking zone to full power (switch set-ting 9).Caution: The pan base of suitable kitchenwareheats up within a few seconds!• You can also check this with a magnet. If it sticksto the base, the vessel is suitable for the induc-tion cooking zone.Pan sizeIt is basically possible to use a pan which is smallerthan the cooking zone marked on the glass ceramicsurface. However, the pan base diameter must be ofa minimum size, depending on the cooking zonesize.Nevertheless, so as to avoid energy losses, we rec-ommend that you use pans, the base diameter ofwhich correspond to the diameter of the inductioncooking zone.Note:Please pay attention to the pan base diameter whenbuying it, as the pan manufacturer mostly states theupper edge diameter.
