8Using the ApplianceBefore UseRemove all packaging and securing tapes. Washinside the appliance with lukewarm water andbicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0,5 litre of water). To Start the Appliance1. Allow the appliance to stand for 2 hrs afterinstallation.2. Plug in the appliance and switch on at the mainssupply.3. Push the 'fast freeze' switch (c) (yellow indicatorlight will illuminate) and leave to run for 4 hours toallow the correct temperature to be reached beforeplacing food inside.4. The red indicator light will also illuminate until thecorrect temperature is reached.5. When the appliance has reached the settemperature and the red indicator light has goneout push the 'fast freeze' switch (c) again and theswich turns to its original position.Thermostat ControlThe temperature within the freezer is controlled by thethermostat control knob situated on the control panel.0 = OffTurning the thermostat control knob clockwise makesthe temperature progressively colder.Freezing Fresh FoodIt is important that fresh food placed in the freezer isfrozen quickly and that the food already in the freezeris heated as little as possible.)If more than 3-4 kg of food is to be frozen:1. Push the fast freeze switch (c) 6-24 hours beforeplacing the fresh food in the freezer, the yellow lightwill illuminate. The compressor will now runcontinuously, to ensure that the fresh food is frozenas quickly as possible.2. Place the food in the freezing compartment andleave the 'fast freeze' switch on for a further 24hours.
