ZEISS OPERATION Stereo microscopeSetting reflected-light illumination Stemi 30528 435063-7144-008 09/2017English4.2 Setting reflected-light illumination4.2.1 Integrated vertical illuminatorEach Stemi 305 body features a vertical illuminatorof its own.If no second reflected-light illumination has beeninstalled, the vertical illuminator is operated asdescribed below:• Press the knob (Fig. 20/1) once to switch thevertical illuminator (Fig. 20/2) alternately ON orOFF.• Turning of the knob serves to adjust theillumination intensity.If a second reflected-light illumination has beeninstalled, the reflected-light illuminators areoperated as described below:• Press the knob successively to set fourillumination states:1. Press: to switch the vertical illuminationON.2. Press: to switch the second reflected-lightilluminator ON (vertical illuminationOFF).3. Press: to switch both reflected-lightilluminators ON.4. Press: to switch both reflected-lightilluminators OFF.• By turning the knob, the illumination intensityof the switched-ON reflected-light illuminatorcan be adjusted.When mixing both reflected-light illuminators, the intensity of the additionally installedreflected-light illuminator (spot illuminator, double-spot illuminator, ring illuminator, etc.) isadopted. In this case, only the vertical illumination is adjusted by turning the knob.Now, the required intensity of the vertical light is blended in with the reflected-lightilluminator.Fig. 20 Setting the vertical illuminator
