Air circulates through perfora-tions in the back and bottom of the cabinet. Donot block these vents or you will shorten the lifeof your TV.Power Source - Your TV is designed to operateon normal household current, 120 volt 60 HertzAC. Do not attempt to operate it on DC current.Power Cord - Your power cord has apolarized plug as required by Underwriters'Laboratories. It has one regular blade and onewide blade and fits only one way into a standardelectrical outlet. If the blades will not entereither way, your outlet is very. old and non-standard. A new outlet should be installed by aqualified electrician.Safe Operation - Your TV is manufacturedand tested with your safety in mind. However,unusual stress caused by dropping or mishan-dling, exposure to flood, fire, rain or moisture,or accidental spilling of liquids into the TV, canresult in potential electrical shock or firchazards. If this happens, have your TV checkedby a service technician before using it again.Please read and observe each safety point in the "SafetyTips" folder when installing and using your TV.FIXED PATTERN DISPLAY CAUTION .- If you use yourTV for _4deo games, tek.text or other fixed displays, avoidsetting the BRIGHTNESS control for an excessively brightpicture. A bright, fixe,.4pattern, if used for long periods oftime, can result in a peraaanent imprint on the TV picturetube. You can reduce tl_is possibility by alternating the useof the [-txedpattern cEsplay with normal TV picture viewing,by turning down the CONTRAST control for sustainedfixed pattern use, and by turning off the fixed pattern dis-play when not in use.PLUGGING IN YOUR "IV - Be sure to plug your TV intoan "un,;witched" AC power source. The "switched" AC outlets found on some ,,_Ldeoequipment 'will not continue sup-plying; !power to the TV once the equ!ipment is turned off. Ifthe power to the TV is interrupted, you will have to resetthe clock in the TV to the current time.
