Refrain from operating the blow-er if you are tired, ill, or upset, orif you are under the influence ofalcohol, drugs or medication.2. To reduce the risk of hearing lossassociated with sound level(s),hearing protection is required.3. To reduce the risk of injury as-sociated with thrown objects,always wear eye protection andfoot protection. Eye protectionshould meet the requirements ofANSI Z87.1.4. To reduce the risk of injury as-sociated with the inhalation ofdust, use a face filter mask industy conditions.5. Wear sturdy rubber-soled shoesor shoes with some other form ofanti-slip protection to help pro-tect you against falling.6. To reduce the risk of injury as-sociated with objects beingdrawn into rotating parts, do notwear loose clothing, scarves,neck chains, hair longer thanshoulder length, or other loosematerial.7. Prolonged use of a blower, ex-posing the operator to vibrationsand cold may produce whitefin-ger disease (Raynaud’s phenom-enon), which symptoms are tin-gling and burning sensationsfollowed by loss of color andnumbness in the fingers. All fac-tors which contribute to whitefin-ger disease are not known, butcold weather, smoking diseasesor physical conditions as well aslong periods of exposure to vi-bration are mentioned as factors.In order to reduce the risk ofwhitefinger disease, the follow-ing precautions are stronglyrecommended;a) Keep your body warm.
