DALTOOL® SAFETYELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTSAND GROUNDINGINSTRUCTIONS.In order to prevent potential electrical shockand injury, the following electrical safetyprecautions and symbols should be followedat all times! In case of a malfunction or break-down, grounding provides a path ofleast resistance for electric currentto reduce the risk of electric shock. This tool is equipped with an electric cordhaving an equipment-grounding conductorand a grounding plug. The plug must beplugged into a matching outlet that is pro-perly installed and grounded in accordancewith all local codes and ordinances.● Do not modify the plug provided – if itwill not fit the outlet; have the properoutlet installed by a qualified electrician.● Improper connections of the equipmentgrounding conductor can result in a riskof electric shock. The equipment-grounding conductor is the insulatedconductor that has an outer surface thatis green with or without yellow stripes. Ifrepair or replacement of the electriccord or plug is necessary, do notconnect the equipment-grounding con-ductor to a live terminal.● Check with a qualified electrician orservice personnel if the groundinginstructions are not completely under-stood, or if in doubt s to whether the toolis properly grounded.● Use only 3-wire extension cords thathave 3-prong grounding plugs and3-pole receptacles that accept the tool’splug.● Repair or replace a damaged or worncord immediately. This tool is intended for use on acircuit that has a 3 pole outlet. To reduce the risk of electrocuta-tion, keep all connections dry andoff the ground.A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)should be provided on the circuit(s) oroutlet(s)to be used for the Saw. Receptaclesare available having built-in GFCI protectionsand may be used for this measure of safety. AGFCI is not supplied with the machine. When using an extension cord, the GFCIshould be installed closest to the powersource, followed by the extension cord andlastly, the saw.Shock Hazard. For replacement, use onlyan identical DALTOOL water pump, Item #6.513.298To avoid the possibility of the machi-nes plug or electrical outlet gettingwet, position the saw to one sideof a wall mounted outlet. This willprevent water from dripping onto the outletor plug. A “drip loop” should be arranged bythe user to properly position the power cordrelative to the power source. The “drip loop”is that part of the cord below the level of theoutlet, or the connector, if an extension cordis used.Continued on page 10▼DALTOOL 1048BrS OPERATING MANUAL V02/2008R1 PAGE 9
