13.10. Frequency generator - Freq. gen.Selecting «Freq. gen.» opens the corresponding subscreen. Each amplifier channel is equipped with an independent signalgenerator offering sine wave or pink noise signals. The generator provides pure-spectral sine wave signals with highfrequency accuracy and free of harmonics. The generator can be used to check the connected loudspeakersor to identify room resonances, for example. The generator is inserted in the signal path after the input sectionand before the actual signal processing. The test tone will sum upwith any input signal present.Note: As a precautionary measure, the frequency generatoris always set to Off after the device is powered on.Off The frequency generator is switched off(Bypass).Sine/Pink noiseTo turn the frequency generator on, selecteither «Sine» or «Pink noise», depending onthe desired signal.Frequency The frequency is adjustable from 10 Hz to20 kHz.On the top right of the «Frequency/FRQ» inputfield, the increment is displayed as an octavevalue. When you click the field for the firsttime, the frequency increment is set to 1/6octave. When you click the field again, youcan toggle between 1/6 and 1/96 octaveincrements. To confirm the set frequency, click the inputfield again.Level The level in dBu is adjustable from –57.5 dBto +6 dB in 0.5 dB steps. The level value corresponds to the level at thecontroller signal input. The actual outputvoltage depends on the channel input gain, the frequency dependent gain of the selectedloudspeaker setup and the EQ settings, ifapplicable. On the Home screen, the On/Off status of the generator isindicated by the entry «FG» on the Channel view button of thecorresponding channel strip, as shown in the graphic opposite.d&b 10D/30D Manual 1.10 en 75
