DeCrane Aerospace Audio International TSC-9104-101-x Installation & Operation ManualDocument # 540364, Rev IR, 02/2008 Page 7 of 153.4 Wiring RequirementsThe installing agency shall supply and fabricate all external cables andconnectors. The length and routing of external cables should be carefullystudied and planned before attempting installation of the equipment. Allowadequate space for installation of cable and connectors.3.4.1 Power WiresThe chassis shall be electrically bonded to the airframe structure bya conductive mounting point with <0.1 resistance using <50 impedance cable. Aluminum wool, nylon webbing impregnated withaluminum oxide abrasive or fiber bristle brushes are the approvedtools for removing anodized surfaces at mounting point where thebonding wire is attached. Power and ground wires shall be inaccordance with M22759. Protect power wires with circuit breakersor fuses located close to the electrical power source bus.3.4.2 Serial Video WiresAll serial digital video wiring connections are recommended to usePIC V76261 shielded coax. Serial digital video provided in SMPTE259M format. All connector types shall be compatible with above-listed wiring requirements.3.4.3 Hot-SwappingThis unit is not designed to withstand active power application tothe unit when making all connections to this unit. This unit requiresinput power being inactive prior to making all other connections tothe unit for proper operation.3.4.4 DeCrane Aerospace Audio International’s Proprietary RS-485 Data BusThe TSC-9104-101-x is designed to interface with other DeCraneAerospace Audio International equipment via DeCrane AerospaceAudio International’s proprietary RS-485 serial data bus. The databus shall be implemented using a twisted shielded pair cable inaccordance with NEMA WC 27500. The wire size for theconductors in this cable shall be 22 AWG, MINIMUM. Shield pinsare available for connecting data bus shields when required.Refer to DeCrane Aerospace Audio International document 650007for RS-485 Serial Data Bus design architecture.
