Allow excess fluid to drain into a container during thesimulation..Cleaning the IV ArmClean the IV arm after each session or day of use by flushing the IVArm with 60% isopropanol or 70% ethanol.Installing Defibrillation Adapter PlatesThe manikin torso is fitted with two stud connectors for defibrillatorcables. Before attempting defibrillation, you must unscrew and removethe defibrillator stud covers. Two defibrillation adapter plates are packaged with the manikin. Thedefibrillator adapter plates must be fitted in place before using a livedefibrillator with defibrillation paddles or adhesive pads. Screw theadapter plates firmly into place.During DefibrillationA conventional defibrillator (not included) may be used on theSimJunior. During live defibrillation, the defibrillator and manikin maypresent a shock hazard. All standard safety precautions must be takenwhen using the defibrillator on the manikin.Caution: The manikin must not be in contact with electricallyconductive surfaces or objects during defibrillation.Warnings:– Defibrillation must be performed on the defibrillator connectorsonly.– Do not press too hard over the defibrillation adapters as this maycause arcing and pitting.– Do not defibrillate the manikin without the torso skin in place.Connecting the Blood Pressure CuffThe manikin is delivered with a customized blood pressure cuff.Connect the tube to the white BP connector on back of the Link Boxbefore use.Note: The speaker for the Manikin’s blood pressure is locatedin the left antecubital fossa, shown below circled.
