Starting up the InstrumentPower SupplyThe Photometer 7500 Bluetooth is designed to be poweredeither from alkaline batteries or via the USB port.When operating on battery power, the battery level isindicated on the Info Panel. A minimum voltage of 3.0V isneeded to operate the photometer and a flashing batterysymbol indicates a critically low battery. Change batteriesimmediately or switch to alternative USB power. ThePhotometer 7500 Bluetooth will automatically power downwhen power is no longer capable of providing acceptableperformance.To power via the USB port, use the supplied cable connectedeither to the mains adaptor or a PC. The USB icon will appearwhen the USB connection is made and battery power will nolonger be consumed.The Photometer 7500 Bluetooth has a back-up batterymounted internally to save instrument settings and dataduring power loss and instrument idle periods.Replacing BatteriesThe battery compartment is located on the base of theinstrument and secured by four screws. Remove the coverand install a complete set of new batteries, observing thecorrect polarity as indicated. Use 3 x 1.5V 'AA’ alkalinebatteries or equivalent. See Appendix 2 for more details.To avoid corrosion damage through leakage, removebatteries from the instrument if it is to be stored or left unusedfor a long period.
