14 :: Inserting the SIM cardInserting the SIM cardYour subscriber identity module (SIM) card contains account information such as yourphone number and voicemail access number. To use the phone, email, or web featuresof your Treo 650 smartphone, you need to insert the SIM card. If a SIM card did notcome with your Treo 650, your wireless service provider will give you one when yousubscribe. If you have an older, 5-volt SIM card, you should request a newer, 3-voltSIM. This Treo is not compatible with older 5-volt SIM cards.1. Slide the SIM tray out of the phone.2. Insert the SIM card into the SIM tray by aligning the notches until you feel it lockinto place.3. Slide the SIM tray back into the phone.4. If your SIM card is not already activated, follow the activation steps provided byyour wireless service provider or contact your wireless service provider directly forassistance. If you want to use email, web browsing, and multimedia messaging, besure to confirm that your SIM card is activated for data services.Your wireless serviceprovider may already haveinserted the SIM card intoyour Treo.
