2-4 CHAPTER 2: I NSTALLATION AND POWER -UPInstalling andRemoving the7600 Card ModulesThe following section discusses how to install and remove the 7600 Cardand its optional modules.Installing the 7600Card ModuleTo install the 7600 Card module into the CELLplex 7000 chassis, performthe following steps:1 Pull the ejector tabs on each side of the front panel to their outermostposition and orient the 7600 Card in front of the selected slot of theCELLplex 7000.2 Place the module between the runners of the selected slot and slide itinto the CELLplex 7000 chassis until it reaches the backplane and can gono further.While sliding the 7600 Card into chassis, make sure that the loose hexspacers on the card do not interfere with inserting the module.3 Make sure the ejector tabs are still in their outermost position and givethe module a firm push to ensure that the card has fit snugly into theconnectors on the backplane.4 Push the ejector tabs to their innermost position to lock the module inplace.You may have to apply pressure on the tabs in order to ensure that theboard is firmly in place in the connectors in the backplane. An audibleclick indicates that the connectors have engaged.5 Pull the ejector tabs to the middle position.6 Tighten the module’s securing screws on the front panel.Removing the 7600Card ModuleTo remove the 7600 Card from the CELLplex 7000 chassis perform thefollowing steps:1 Release the screws on the front panel.2 Pull the ejector tabs to their outermost position and carefully slide themodule out.The 7600 Card module can be inserted into or removed from the chassisof the CELLplex 7000 ATM switch while the switch is powered up(i.e., hot-swapped).abtthgde.book Page 4 Tuesday, June 23, 1998 10:29 AM
