Restoring the 3C882 ISDN Modem to Autobaud 8-9Restoring the 3C882 ISDN Modem to AutobaudThe 3C882 ISDN modem autobauds up to 115 Kbps (bydefault) to match your computer’s COM port speed. If youfixed the baud rate of the modem using the AT$B commandand the COM port speed of the connected computer nolonger matches that rate, or if you have installed a serial portcard that allows for transfers up to 230.4 Kbps and have setthe baud rate accordingly, then you will not be able tocommunicate with the 3C882 ISDN modem. You can restorethe 3C882 ISDN modem to autobaud mode by followingthese steps:1 Use terminal emulation software on the connectedcomputer to set the software at a low baud rate, such as1200 baud.2 Power up the 3C882 ISDN modem and observe the LEDs.When the Test LED goes off, observe the B1 and B2 LEDlights. These LEDs should flash momentarily. Immediatelytype the letter “a” repeatedly from your keyboard, until yousee the letter “a” appear on the screen. (This may takeapproximately 5 seconds.)
