Placing Units On Top of Each Other 27Placing Units OnTop of Each OtherIf the Switch units are free-standing, up to eight units can be placed oneon top of the other. If you are mixing a variety of SuperStack® 3 Switchand Hub units, the smaller units must be positioned at the top.If you are placing Switch units one on top of the other, you must use theself-adhesive rubber pads supplied. Apply the pads to the underside ofeach Switch, sticking one in the marked area at each corner. Place theSwitch units on top of each other, ensuring that the pads of the upperunit line up with the recesses of the lower unit.Stacking Units Switch 4400 units can be stacked together and then treated as a singlemanageable unit with one IP address. Any combination of 24-port and48-port units is allowed in a single stack.The SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 SE can only be stacked with non-SESwitches if it has been upgraded using the Switch 4400 SE EnhancedSoftware Upgrade (3C17207). An upgraded Switch 4400 SE cannot bestacked with a normal Switch 4400 SE.How To Stack Units To stack two Switch 4400 units you will need to order the SuperStack 3Switch Cascade Stacking Kit (3C17227). The kit consists of two CascadeModules and a Cascade Cable.
