JANUARY 2010 - TD 220a DEPLOYMENT GUIDE, RDCP600 Page 55Reliable solutions2.1.2 Data StorageTo store the Wave parameters, Wave Time seriesand/or the Wave Spectrum, check the parameters in theSensor page of the Data Storage Configuration, referFigure 2-3.NOTE! The Wave timeseries/spectrum parameter holdsa large amount of data, hence occupies a large part ofthe storage capacity. Storing the parameter consumes alot of power. In some cases storage of wave timeseries/spectrum will slow down the system. Wavetimeseries/spectrum should only be recorded in specialoccasions. The Raw Wave data are given in [Pa], and are sampledat 2 Hz intervals.2.1.3 Real-Time OutputReal-Time output of Wave spectrum and wave timeseries via PDC-4 is not possible (due to timeconsumption). Other wave parameters can be sent real-time via PDC-4.Descriptions of the RS protocols (for real-time output) are given in TD220c RDCP Primer.2.1.4 Operating InstructionsMount the supplied pressure stopper to protect the Quartz pressure sensor if the RDCP 600 isdeployed at depths greater than the specified maximum depth for the Quartz pressure sensor.IMPORTANT! Higher pressure than normal at the specified maximum depth can destroy theQuartz Pressure sensor. Mount the supplied pressure stopper if the instrument is deployed atgreater depths than specified by the sensor.Figure 2-3 Data storage.
