JANUARY 2010 - TD 220a DEPLOYMENT GUIDE, RDCP600 Page 65Reliable solutions When putting back the instrument into its pressure case we recommend that you insertthe instrument 90 off orientation mark. When the instrument is resting on the O-ring,spin the instrument towards orientation. Tighten the C-clamps until the top-end plate rests against the top of the case.Avoid over tightening, as this will damage the clamp.4.2 Retrieval of the InstrumentWhen the instrument is retrieved after deployment, remove marine growth and barnacles fromthe sensor(s) using a hand scrub. To remove sea seashells or corals use plastic handle or similartools. The sensor housing will tolerate most cleaning agents. Be sure to follow the safetyprecaution for such acids.Note! Do not use any form of steal brush or any sharp objects; this might damage the acousticelements. When inspecting, look for corrosion on connector’s cracks on the back potting of connectors andscratches on protecting cable(s) jacket.Rinse the instrument in fresh water and dry it. The unit can then be opened and the instrumentremoved from its pressure container. After opening, the following procedure must be carried out: Wait until the instrument has completed thecurrent recording cycle (see CHAPTER 3);Ping activity reads Idle. Stop the recorder if any battery capacity is left.Wait until the progressing bar have completed. Write down the time of the last recording. Turn off the power switch at the back of theinstrument. Remove the data storage unit from therecording unit by releasing the screw coverbelow the display.Figure 4-1 Multi Media Card, MMC
