13GDED-IOM-215-A8 SITE PREPARATION8.1 Locating equipmentThe dust collector site location must take into account the wind and seismic loadings.See collector specifications to ensure proper site location. The collector is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. Ensure proper equipmentand accessories are equipped on the OptiFlo RC for such installations. The collector can belocated on a foundation (by others) or on structural framing (by others).Ensure local laws, codes and regulations are followed for the materials beingcollected. Noise levels should be considered when selecting the proper location of the OptiFloRC.Locate the OptiFlo RC in a location so that maintenance to the collector can behandled easily. See collector drawing for cartridge clearance. In the case of hazardous dust, consult your local authorities, laws, codes, orregulations for the location of the unit.8.2 FoundationsThe OptiFlo RC dust collector is usually mounted on a reinforced concrete foundation. However, roof mounting is also possible. When calculating for foundation or roof mounting, the weight of the dust collector, material collected, and all auxiliary equipment must beconsidered together with snow, wind, and seismic loads. Check the drawings of the specificOptiFlo RC ordered for the dust collector weight.8.3 AnchoringSee the specific OptiFlo RC collector drawing for anchor bolt location. Anchor boltsmust extend at least 1.75 inches above the foundation. The collector should be located withconsideration for emptying hoppers, electrical and air connections and maintenance, andshould have the shortest run of ductwork possible.
