23Startup(See back of the manual for startup form.)Before startup of the chiller make sure thatthe following items have been checked.1. Verify that electrical power is available tothe unit.2. Verify that any remote stop/start deviceconnected to the chiller controller isrequesting the chiller to start.3. Verify that liquid flow is present throughthe chiller from the building.4. There should be a building load of at least25% of the chiller capacity in order toproperly check operation.5. With the main power switch off, reviewthe Controller Manual provided with thechiller. Understand the keypad functions, how to set the leaving water temperaturesetpoint and how to initiate the Run State.Use the general check list at the top of thestartup form to make a last check that all thecomponents are in place, water flow ispresent, and the power supply is energized.Using the controller keypad, individually setthe outputs in “Manual On” to confirm relayclosure and compressor operation.Cycle through all the compressors to confirmthat all are operating within tolerance. While performing the check, use the startupform to record observations of amps andrefrigerant pressures. When all is running properly, place thecontroller in the Run mode and observe thesystem until it reaches a steady state ofoperation.Note: For more information on programmingthe controller refer to the MCS Controllermanual provided with the unit.Electric shock hazard. Shut off allelectrical power to the unit to avoidshock hazard or injury from rotatingparts.WARNINGImproper installation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance cancause property damage, personalinjury or loss of life. Installation andservice must be performed by aFactory Trained Service Technician.WARNINGRotation must be checked on allMOTORS AND COMPRESSORS ofthree phase units. All motors, toinclude and not be limited to pumpmotors and condenser fan motors, should all be checked by a qualifiedservice technician at startup and anywiring alteration should only be madeat the unit power connection.CAUTIONBefore completing installation, acomplete operating cycle should beobserved to verify that all componentsare functioning properly.CAUTION
