ACH550-UH User’s Manual 1-189Embedded fieldbusCommunication setup – EFBSerial communication selectionTo activate the serial communication, set parameter 9802 COMM PROTOCOL SEL =• 1 ( STD MODBUS ).• 2 ( N2)• 3 ( FLN)• 5 ( BACNET )Note: If you cannot see the desired selection on the panel, your drive does not havethat protocol software in the application memory.Serial communication configurationSetting 9802 automatically sets the appropriate default values in parameters thatdefine the communication process. These parameters and descriptions are definedbelow. In particular, note that the station ID may require adjustment.Code Description EFB Protocol ReferenceModbus N2 FLN BACnet5301 EFB PROTOCOL IDContains the identification andprogram revision of theprotocol.Do not edit. Any non-zero value entered for parameter 9802COMM PROT SEL, sets this parameter automatically. Theformat is: XXYY, where xx = protocol ID, and YY = programrevision.5302 EFB STATION IDDefines the node address ofthe RS485 link. When one of these protocols isselected, the default value forthis parameter is: 1When this protocol isselected, the defaultvalue for this parameteris: 128Set each drive on the network with a unique value for thisparameter.Note: For a new address to take affect, the drive powermust be cycled OR 5302 must first be set to 0 beforeselecting a new address. Leaving 5302 = 0 places theRS485 channel in reset, disabling communication.Note: For the BACnet protocol, the ACH550 will function as a Master with MACIDs in the range of 1 - 127. With MAC ID settings of 128 - 254, the drive is in Slaveonly behavior.
