No direct connection to the LevelMaster ispermitted.IMPORTANT NOTES: Electronics boards can be removed from the enclosure for configuration purposes ifremaining at the top of the tank during configuration is not possible or safe. The cables designed to connect thelaptop to the board have batteries which power the LevelMaster during local connection, eliminating the need foran external power source. If boards are removed from the LevelMaster for configuration, they can be reinstalled forfinal wiring and verification. Consider removing the board from the enclosure for convenience during initialconfiguration. The removable terminal connectors can be easily unplugged and inserted back in without disturbingthe wiring previously completed.Preparing cables for local connectionThe cables required for connecting the laptop to the LevelMaster depend on the board version. Table 4: Cables and adapters fordirect connection to the LevelMaster, describes several options. The pictures of the assembly of the cables is replicated in thissection for convenience. The converter cables, adapters, and USB adapters must be all be connected to be able to attach thelaptop to the LevelMaster. The cables and adapters described in this section are included as examples. Additional cable lengthsand variations are available for purchase from ABB.To assemble the cable and adapters for connection:1. Connect the RS-485-to-RS-232 converter to the cable adapter.a.
