21.12.1.1 IEC 61850 protocol test mode GUID-82998715-6F23-4CAF-92E4-05E1A863CF33 v5The function block TESTMODE has implemented the extended testing mode capabilities for IEC61850 Ed2 systems. Operator commands sent to the function block TESTMODE determine thebehavior of the functions. The command can be given remotely from an IEC 61850 client or fromthe LHMI under the Main menu/Test/Function test modes/Communication/StationCommunication/IEC61850 LD0 LLN0/LD0LLN0:1. The possible values of the function blockTESTMODE are described inCommunication protocol manual, IEC 61850 Edition 1 andEdition 2.There is no setting in PCM600 via PST for the TESTMODE function block. To be able to set the function block TESTMODE remotely, the setting via path onLHMI and in PST: Main menu/Configuration/Communication/ StationCommunication/IEC61850-8-1/IEC61850-8-1:1RemoteModControl may not be settoOff. The possible values of the parameterRemoteModControl areOff,Maintenance orAll levels. TheOff value denies all access to function blockTESTMODE from remote,Maintenance requires that the category of the originator(orCat) isMaintenance andAll levels allow any orCat.The DataObject Mod of the Root LD.LNN0 can be set on the LHMI under Main menu/Test/Function test modes/Communication/Station communication/IEC61850 LD0 LLN0/LD0LLN0:1toOn,Off,TestBlocked,Test orBlocked. When the setting of the DataObject Mod is changed at this level, all Logical Nodes inside thelogical device update their own behavior according to IEC61850-7-4. The supported values of thefunction block TESTMODE are described inCommunication protocol manual, IEC 61850 Edition 2.When the function block TESTMODE is in test mode the Start LED on the LHMI is turned on withsteady light. The parameterMod of any specific function block can be configured under Main menu/Test/Function test modes/Communication/Station CommunicationThe parameter Mod can be set on the LHMI to the same values as for the DataObject Mod of theRoot LD.LNN0 toOn,Off,TestBlocked,Test orBlocked. For Example, Main menu/ Test/ Functiontest modes/ Differential protection/GeneratorDiff(87G,3Id/I>)/ GENPDIF(87G,3Id/I>):1.It is possible that the behavior of the function block TESTMODE is also influenced by other sourcesas well, independent of the mode communicated via the IEC61850-8-1 station bus. For example theinsertion of the test handle into the test switch with its auxiliary contact is connected to a BI onthe IED and further inside the configuration to the input IED_TEST on the function blockTESTMODE. Another example is when loss of Service Values appears, or as explained above thesetting via the LHMI.When setting via PST or LHMI the parameterOperation of any function in an IED is set toOff, thefunction is not executed and the behavior (beh) is set toOff and it is not possible to override it.When a behavior of a function isOff the function will not execute. The relatedMod keeps itscurrent state. When IEC 61850 Mod of a function is set toOff orBlocked, the Start LED on theLHMI will be set to flashing to indicate the abnormal operation of the IED.1MRK 511 364-UUS A Section 21Basic IED functions293Application manual
