21.9.2 Setting guidelines SEMOD55228-5 v2There are no setting parameters for the Signal matrix for binary outputs SMBO available to theuser in Parameter Setting tool. However, the user must give a name to SMBO instance andSMBO outputs, directly in the Application Configuration tool. These names will define SMBOfunction in the Signal Matrix tool.21.10 Signal matrix for mA inputs SMMI SEMOD55233-1 v221.10.1 Application SEMOD55237-5 v2The Signal matrix for mA inputs function SMMI is used within the Application Configurationtool in direct relation with the Signal Matrix tool. SMMI represents the way milliamp (mA)inputs are brought in for one IED configuration.21.10.2 Setting guidelines SEMOD55247-5 v2There are no setting parameters for the Signal matrix for mA inputs SMMI available to the userin the Parameter Setting tool. However, the user must give a name to SMMI instance and SMMIinputs, directly in the Application Configuration tool.21.11 Signal matrix for analog inputs SMAI SEMOD55751-1 v221.11.1 Application SEMOD55744-4 v10Signal matrix for analog inputs (SMAI), also known as the preprocessor function block, analyses the connected four analog signals (three phases and neutral) and calculates allrelevant information from them like the phasor magnitude, phase angle, frequency, true RMSvalue, harmonics, sequence components and so on. This information is then used by therespective functions connected to this SMAI block in ACT (for example protection, measurement or monitoring functions).21.11.2 Frequency values GUID-B494B93C-B5AA-4FD6-8080-8611C34C2AD8 v5The SMAI function includes a functionality based on the level of positive sequence voltage,MinValFreqMeas, to validate if the frequency measurement is valid or not. If the positivesequence voltage is lower thanMinValFreqMeas, the function freezes the frequency outputvalue for 500 ms and after that the frequency output is set to the nominal value. A signal isavailable for the SMAI function to prevent operation due to non-valid frequency values.MinValFreqMeas is set as % ofUBase/√3If SMAI settingConnectionType isPh-Ph, at least two of the inputs GRPxL1, GRPxL2 andGRPxL3, where 1≤x≤12, must be connected in order to calculate the positive sequence voltage.Note that phase to phase inputs shall always be connected as follows: L1-L2 to GRPxL1, L2-L3to GRPxL2, L3-L1 to GRPxL3. If SMAI settingConnectionType isPh-N, all three inputs GRPxL1,GRPxL2 and GRPxL3 must be connected in order to calculate the positive sequence voltage. If only one phase-phase voltage is available and SMAI settingConnectionType isPh-Ph, theuser is advised to connect two (not three) of the inputs GRPxL1, GRPxL2 and GRPxL3 to thesame voltage input as shown in figure 214 to make SMAI calculate a positive sequence voltage.Section 21 1MRK 511 358-UEN ABasic IED functions446Application manual
