Section 9 Testing IED operation9.1 Preparing for test9.1.1 RequirementsIED test requirements:• Calculated settings• Application configuration diagram• Signal matrix (SMT) configuration• Terminal connection diagram• Technical manual• Three-phase test equipment• Process bus, IEC61850-9-2LE, MU test simulator, if IEC 61850-9-2LE processbus communication is used.• PCM600The setting and configuration of the IED must be completed before the testing canstart. The terminal diagram, available in the technical reference manual, is a generaldiagram of the IED.Note that the same diagram is not always applicable to each specificdelivery (especially for the configuration of all the binary inputs andoutputs). Therefore, before testing, check that the available terminal diagram corresponds to theIED.The technical manual contains application and functionality summaries, functionblocks, logic diagrams, input and output signals, setting parameters and technical datasorted per function. The test equipment should be able to provide a three-phase supply of voltages andcurrents. The magnitude of voltage and current as well as the phase angle betweenvoltage and current must be variable. The voltages and currents from the testequipment must be obtained from the same source and they must have minimalharmonic content. If the test equipment cannot indicate the phase angle, a separatephase-angle measuring instrument is necessary.1MRK 511 360-UEN A Section 9Testing IED operationBay control REC670 2.1 IEC 67Commissioning manual
