Getting Started 574.3 Installing the cPCI-3920 to the ChassisTo install the cPCI-3920 module to a CompactPCI chassis:1. Refer to the chassis documentation before installing thecPCI-3920.2. Turn off the power in both chassis front and rear.3. Assign a system slot for the board. Make sure youassign the correct slot.4. Remove the panel cover of the slot you have selected.5. Remove the black plastic caps securing the mountingscrews to the front panel.6. Align the top and bottom edges of the board with thecard guides on the chassis, then push the board until it iscompletely flushed on the chassis.7. Move the locking handle inward until it is fully-latched. Aslight resistance may be felt when inserting the board. Ifthe resistance is too strong, check if there are bent pinson the backplane or if the board’s connector pins areproperly aligned with the connectors on the backplane.8. Check if the board is seated properly on the slot. Securethe board with mounting screws (behind the upper andlower ejector)9. Connect the cables and peripherals to the board, thenturn the chassis on.4.4 RTM (cPCI-R3920) InstallationFollow the typical cPCI board installation and removal proceduresfor the RTM. However, be careful when when inserting or remov-ing RTMs to the chassis as these are shorter than front boards.Refer to previous sections when connecting or installing peripher-als to the RTM. Make sure that the RTMs you are installing arecompatible with the cPCI-3920 Series.Note: You must install the correct RTM to enable some functional-ities (I/O interfaces) on the rear panel. Installation of non-compatible RTMs may damage the system board and/or oth-er RTMs.
