Installation and Operation2-6 T3SU 300 User Manual 61200217L1-1Alarm ConnectorThe alarm connector is a three-position, screw-type terminal blockthat is connected to the three contacts of a Form C-type relay on themain board of the T3SU 300. This relay is activated any time theT3SU 300 detects an alarm condition on the T3 network interface.The alarm function can be disabled through the A LARM R ELAYselection of the C ONFIGURATION menu.DTE Port 1 (HSSI Interface)DTE port 1 is a built-in HSSI port that resides on the main board ofthe T3SU 300. The bandwidth of this port is configurable from75 kbps to 44.2 Mbps in either 75 kbps or 3.16 Mbps increments.When a single application requires the full 44.2 Mbps ofbandwidth, the T3SU 300 does not have to be equipped withadditional port cards.Auxiliary PortThe auxiliary (AUX) port is an 8-pin modular jack located on therear panel of the T3SU 300. The AUX port provides a telephone line(POTS) connection for the internal V.34 modem.The T3SU 300 can be configured as a dial-in host and also as a dial-out-on-TRAP device (meaning that the unit dials out to a specifiedhost to report error conditions). Configure the modem parametersin the D IALUP O PTIONS menu under the S YSTEM M ANAGEMENTportion of the C ONFIGURATION menu (C ONFIGURATION -> SYSTEMMANAGEMENT -> D IALUP OPTIONS).LAN PortThe LAN port is an 8-pin modular connector that provides a10BaseT ethernet LAN interface. This LAN interface is used forSNMP and TELNET control.
