18 www.aeg.comPositioning the cookerThe appliances are fitted with thefollowing parts to enable them to becorrectly positioned:• Adjustable feet, to be fitted to theappliance, which allow the height ofthe cooker to be aligned with otherkitchen furniture (fig. 4).• Backguard 1 . If the cookers areequipped with this accessory, leave ofthe factory with this particular insertedinside the packaging. In order toinstall the backguard, it is necessaryto loosen the screws 2 positioned onthe back of the hob and then to fix thebackgaurd as indicated in figure 5fig. 4fig. 55.2 Gas connectionBefore connecting the appliancecheck that the data on the rating plateaffixed to the cooker, correspond tothose of the gas mains.A label on the back of this handbookand at the back of the cooker givesthe appliance adjustment conditions,that is, the type of gas and operatingpressure.When the final connection has beenmade, it is essential that a thoroughleak test is carried out on the cookerand installation.Ensure that the main connectionpipe does not exert any strain on thecookerThe appliance must be installed andserviced by a competent person asstated in the Gas Safety (Installationand Use) Regulation Current Editionsand the IEE Wiring Regulations.Any gas installation must be carriedout by a competent person (GAS SAFEREGISTER engineer)to the relevant Gas Standards.The manufacturer will not acceptliability, should the above instructionsor any of the other safety instructionsincorporated in this book be ignored.This cooker is designed to be installedwith an appliance flexible connection.Connection is made to the RC 1/2 (1/2’’B.S.P.) female threaded located justbelow the hotplate level on the rearright-hand side of the cooker.• The gas bayonet connector can befitted directly behind the applianceor alternatively adjacent to theappliance.• If fitted in a cupboard access must beavailable to disconnect and connectthe flexible hose.• It is recommended that a bayonettype plug in micropoint flexible hoseis used.• Recommended length - 4 feet x 3/8inch bore.Note:For certain types of gas bayonetconnection used, it may not be possiblefor the appliance to be pushed fully backto the wall stops.Important:Flexible tubing MUST comply with BS.669Current Edition.Attention!
