Basic Operation3.1 Switch the Telephone On/OffThe telephone is switched off:1 Press and hold the On-hook key .When pressing the On-hook key, the telephone will vibrate and the display lights up.2 A dialog window DT690 Switch on? or DT692 Switch on? is displayed depending onwhich telephone that is used. Confirm by pressing "Yes".The telephone is in idle mode:1 Press and hold the On-hook key .2 A dialog window "Switch off?" is displayed. Confirm by pressing "Yes".NOTE: If a handset restriction is enabled, it might not be possible to switch off the handset.See the handset’s Configuration Manual.3.1.1 Turn the Audible Signal On/OffA long press on the in idle mode turns the ring signal on/off.The icon indicates a silenced telephone.3.2 Lock/Unlock the Keypad3.2.1 Lock/Unlock the Keypad in Idle ModeTo prevent accidentally pressing keys and making a call, the keys can be locked.Lock KeypadPress and then press "Lock".Unlock KeypadPress and then press "Yes".NOTE: A call can be answered or ended while the keypad is locked. Any predefinedemergency number can also be called while the keypad is locked as long as theemergency numbers have been configured via the PDM/Device Manager.
