138 Chapter 8 ReferenceSubmasters [Subs]Pressing [Subs] indicates you will press a submaster bump button torecord a sub.After you have used channel and submaster sliders to create the lookyou want, press [Subs] and then one of the submaster bump buttons.This records the look as a submaster. The submaster is stored in theslider immediately above the bump button.Example[Subs] submaster bump button [1] records the current look assubmaster 1.Time slidersThe two Time sliders control the duration of crossfades. Each controlsthe fade time of the cross fader immediately below it on the console.They can be set separately to program different fade rates for eachscene.To change the speed of a crossfade, move the Time sliders up ordown. As you pull the sliders down from 5m to 0, the duration of thefade decreases from five minutes to zero. At the zero setting there isno programmed fade time. You must manually control the crossfademanually with the cross faders. You can set the rate of the fade at anypoint between 0 and 5m.Once the fade time for a scene is set, initiate the crossfade by movingthe cross fader for that scene.ExampleSet scene A cross fader at 10, scene B cross fader at 0, all channelsliders at 10, scene A Time slider at 5m, and scene B Time slider at1m.
